HR Manager

Overview of Position


The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Human Resources within Systems LLC including the Germantown, WI and Malvern, AR manufacturing sites. The Systems HR Manager will serve as the face of HR to our leaders, managers and associates within CAS line of business. The scope of the HR Manager's responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to: employee relations, recruiting & retention, training, compensation and benefits administration, talent management and cultural change and development. The position will work with the HR department at Chamberlain Group (CGI) to integrate and implement best practices that will provide benefit to both Systems and CGI. This position is responsible for providing HR partnership and consulting that will help build capability and develop employees creating the right talent, right leadership, and right culture to grow our business.

 

Essential Functions


  • Consults with, advises, and supports business leaders regarding change initiatives, workforce planning, performance management, change management, talent management & development, compensation, engagement, employee relations, culture, diversity and inclusion, and HR programs and projects.

  • Accountable for payroll, compensation and benefits administration, recruitment for the Germantown and Malvern site.

  • Strategically coaches and consults with relevant business groups to find the most appropriate solutions to meet the business needs.  Work with business groups to assess, create and implement innovative solutions for a variety of employee engagement initiatives

  • Works effectively with managers and employees at all levels of the organization to address all types of employee relations issues, fairly representing all interests, and provides coaching and advice to managers and employees as needed. 

  • Provides managers with interpretation and guidance of HR policies, and legal and compliance matters to ensure fair and consistent application.  Counsels and advises on the administration of specific employment laws including federal and state labor laws, and consults with Legal, as necessary.

  • Reviews and assists managers in drafting corrective action, performance improvement, and termination documentation as needed.

  • Provides investigatory support to managers when responding to State or Federal agency employment claims which may be filed against the organization.

  • Coaches managers to help them strengthen their people leadership skills; serve as a sounding board and confidant during difficult interactions and business situations.

  • Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.

 

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Preferred degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Effectiveness or related field
  • 8-10+ years exempt-level experience in Human Resources, 3+ years managing a team
  • 5+ years of wing-to-wing employee relations experience in a manufacturing environment conducting and managing complex and sensitive employee relations cases (intake, complete thorough investigation, close the loop with the employee that raised the concern, coach / take appropriate disciplinary action with managers / employees as needed, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of local, state, and federal employment law
  • Ability to travel 30%

 

Preferred Qualifications


  • Post graduate degree in related field or MBA preferred
  • Labor relations experience preferred
  • Strong business and HR acumen, including ability to diagnose and analyze problems and drive appropriate solutions
  • Broad knowledge and experience in compensation, organizational planning, talent management, organization development and change management
  • Experience conducting and managing complex and sensitive employee relations cases
  • Exercise strong business judgment that is aligned with broad organizational philosophies and practices and is compliance with regulations
  • Proven track record in instituting and managing change
  • Ability and energy to engage and foster trust.  Seen as a trusted advocate by all employees
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong team player and collaborator – is excellent at leading cross functional initiatives and understands the impact of effective team work and communication
